I used to think Seagate was the best company several years ago but most people here seem to trash them now often warranted trashing.

I don’t think 5,rpm will cut it for me. B series as well. The access time was measured about 13ms by HDTune.

I wasn’t too keen on SSDs for OS drives yet, im still worried about this wear levelling and speed loss that occurrs over time due to write fragmentation?
Typically Pathfinders were just 1-platter drives but now they’re also available with 2 platters, somewhat overlapping Vancouvers in this aspect.

Pathfinders are recognized by ultra-low-profile cast, and a top cover that has a high hitavhi upwards over platter and actuator assemblies. If they refuse to let you check model codes, then I wouldn’t be going there anymore.
Some people say WD is the best, others claim they are the worst.
B benchmarked random access below 13ms. I wouldn’t recommend Hitachi at this point, because their attempts at creating power efficient 3. It may be true that 7K Kurofunes and Vancouvers have smooth bottoms, where as Pathfinder has a “spider web” kind of pattern.
